Favorite Movie (Day 2)

Another hard one! Really, if you could see mine and The Hubby's movie collection, you'd probably say something like, "Geez, do you two even have a life?"

No, we don't.

Just kidding. But we are avid movie-goers and movie-lovers and all that jazz. Just the other night, I dragged him to my second viewing (his first) of Red Riding Hood, which I totally loved and he totally thought was a rip-off of Twilight, but had good moments, except for a few (okay, a lot of...) cheesy lines. Regardless, I highly recommend the soundtrack. Especially track 8, Keep the Streets Empty for Me by Fever Ray. It's sooooo beautifully angst I can practically hear Edward Cullen playing air-violin in the background.

B-rated movies aside, however, I really do have a favorite, and it, too, may surprise you just as, if not more than, my favorite song.  <insert drum roll here, please>

The Silence of the Lambs, starring Sir Anthony Hopkins & Jodie Foster.

A guilty pleasure, this movie. Okay, not really. Because it is wonderfully written and, oh, the actors are fabulous. Like they wouldn't be, right? I mean, come on. It's Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster, for pity's sake, two of the most diverse talents of our generation.

And, boy, does Anthony Hopkins, who plays mastermind psychiatrist/cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter, show some major acting diversity in this film! Based on the novel by super-talented author Thomas Harris, the 1991 film won the five most prestigious Academy Awards: Actor in a Leading Role (Anthony Hopkins), Actress in a Leading Role (Jodie Foster), Director (Jonathan Demme), Motion Picture, and Screenplay.

It is still considered one of the best movies ever made.

So, what's your favorite movie? Do you have one? Several? Share!

Peace, Love, and Junior Mints,

Congratulations on the new blog!...Silence of the Lambs was a great movie, but I'm not really sure I have a favorite one myself, although I have seen Jaws many times since I was 10 years old; it wasn't such a great movie, but it was entertaining=it scared me and fascinated me at the same time!...And I've always loved the beach :)!

Funny thing? I like scary films, but I don't loooove them, you know? So, yeah, I totally know what you mean about Jaws, Jacqueline. I was scared to death of the shark when I was little! And I, too, very much enjoyed Red Riding Hood, Bonn. Sure, it was cheesy at times, but the whole dark, goth feel of the town, its people, and The Wolf really kept me on the edge of my seat.

I am so envious of you...you are blogging every day and I haven't even been back to look in a week! But, good for you! Now, favorite movie? This IS hard because I have so many! There is a close run between Dead Poet's Society and Dogma...I have to say the winner would be Dead Poet's Society, though. LOVES IT! :)
