Attitude. Simple as it sounds, attitude is one of the most important things we possess as human beings trying to make it in this world. And when you get down to the nitty-gritty, one can either choose to be on the upside of the attitude spectrum or, naturally, the downside.
That's right. It's a choice.
I had a great post ready for this, but somehow through Blogger changing its look, it got erased. Go figure. But here's what I have to say about attitude: When you're a writer submitting manuscripts for potential publication and those nasty replies come back, most in some sort of form letter, that say something to the tune of, "Thank you for sending your recent proposal, but..." Well. It's really hard to keep a positive attitude. To actually want to keep going, keep writing more stories.
Why do I use the writing aspect? Because that's what tests my attitude the most. Here's what I tell myself, no matter the case, in order to check the big-A and keep it rising up instead of sliding down: "It's not all about you, and just remember, something good comes out of everything."
Obviously, I may not know what that is at the time, but it's there. My job is to accept the life lesson and, in turn, move forward.
How do you accentuate the positive & eliminate the negative?
